THE LUCKY STRIKES GET MOVING!
Essex folk-punks THE LUCKY STRIKES return this month with a new album.
The Motion And The Moving On is the band’s fifth album and comes ten years into the Southenders’ career. To celebrate, they’ve issued a video slideshow for the single ‘War Drums’ which shows every band member throughout the past decade. The song is an uncharacteristically bleak statement for uncertain times.
The band describe this as their most personal album to date, covering everything from dead-end jobs and missing home to overwhelming grief and mental turmoil. But ultimately this is an album about salvation through music. That life on the road, with your brothers, can save your soul.
The release, which received a 9 out of 10 review in the current edition of Vive Le Rock, comes three years after their last studio album The Exile And The Sea, a period which saw frontman M G Boulter achieve considerable success with his own solo career.
The Motion And The Moving On is released on 30 September, but is available to pre-order now through Harbour Song Records.
Following on from last month’s headline show at the Graze Festival in Berkshire, The Lucky Strikes play a hometown show at Chinnery’s, Southend with DODGY on Friday 9 September.
Meanwhile, M G Boulter embarks on his own solo tour during October and November.
