THE CHILLS ANNOUNCE NEW ALBUM!

New Zealand post-punk legends THE CHILLS have announce the release of a new album for the autumn.

Formed in Dunedin in 1980, the band – with a revolving door line-up centred around mainstay Martin Phillipps – were originally signed to the iconic Flying Nun label, going on to make records for Homestead, Creation and Slash and enjoying international success as standard-bearers for ‘the Dunedin sound’.

Fraught with illness, death and addiction problems, the band entered a lengthy period of hiatus from the late 90s , but with Phillipps receiving effective treatment for Hepatitis C, the band returned with a new album, Silver Bullets, in 2015.

With interest rekindled thanks in part to an expanded reissue of their classic Kaleidoscope World compilation, The Chills are set to release Snow Bound on 14 December through Fire, accompanied by a major tour of their homeland.

Described by Phillipps as… “Hopefully a kind of Carole King ‘Tapestry’ for ageing punks,” Snow Bound is available to pre-order here.
