Seminal UK punk label SMALL WONDER is being celebrated with a special show in the Northeast, featuring some of the label’s bands from the region and from further afield.

Taking place at Westgarth Social Club, Middlesbrough on 2 July, the gig is headlined by Newcastle’s PUNISHMENT OF LUXURY and features sets from THE CRAVATS, ANTHRAX (UK), Washington’s MURDER THE DISTURBED, and Fencehouses’ THE PROLES, with a solo set from Pete Fender of FATAL MICROBES.

Owned and run by Pete Stennett from his shop in Hoe Street, Walthamstow, Small Wonder earned its place in the punk pantheon by releasing early sides for the likes of CRASS, POISON GIRLS, THE CURE, BAUHAUS, ANGELIC UPSTARTS and COCKNEY REJECTS. They released Punishment Of Luxury’s debut single ‘Puppet Life’ before the band signed to major United Artists, plus numerous singles and the debut album by The Cravats, and singles by each of the other bands on the bill.

Tickets priced £11 (£15 otd) are available here.
