SLADE ISSUE LIVE BOX SET!

SLADE are to have some of their incredible live performances documented in a new box set.

As anybody who witnessed their amazing set at the 1980 Reading Festival will attest, the West Midlands chartbusters were at their very best when onstage, and their performance that day – as last minute replacements for Ozzy Osbourne’s Blizzard Of Ozz – catapulted them, rightly, back into the charts and the nations hearts.

Previously released in part as a four-track EP and a truncated Friday Rock Show recording, for the first time ever the whole of the Reading set is being made available as part of the 5-CD box set All The World Is A Stage.

The set also includes a previously officially unreleased recording of the band at London’s New Victoria Theatre from April ’75, recorded while the band were promoting the just released movie Slade In Flame. Also included is another unreleased set from Hucknall Miners’ Welfare Club from June 1980, just prior to their triumphant Reading return. An example of the venues the band had been reduced to playing at that point, the show nonetheless catches them giving their all as ever.

The box set is completed by the officially released live albums Slade Alive! – widely regarded as one of the finest live albums ever – and Slade On Stage, recorded at Newcastle City Hall in December ’81 and granted rave reviews across the board on its release the following year.

Set for release on 9 September through BMG, All the World Is A Stage is available to pre-order here.
