SKELETAL FAMILY VALUES!

West Yorkshire goth-punks SKELETAL FAMILY have a major box set out next month.

Part of the mid-80s Leeds goth scene alongside SISTERS OF MERCY and THE MARCH VIOLETS, Skeletal Family’s ’84 debut album Burning Oil was a huge indie hit, reaching number one and staying in the top ten for several months. Frontwoman Anne-Marie Hurst left after second album Futile Combat, joining Sisters guitarist Gary Marx in GHOST DANCE, with drummer Martin Henderson hooking up with March Violets singer Simon Denbigh in THE BATFISH BOYS. The band have since reunited with Hurst joined by original members Roger Nowell and Stan Greenwood.

The five-disc Eternal box set comprises both Burning Oil and Futile Combat, plus singles, B-sides, demos and BBC sessions. It also features two live sets, one featuring Anne-Marie’s replacement Katrina Phillips, with an appearance from Andrew Eldritch and Wayne Hussey, as well as four new recordings.

Due for release on 29 January through Cherry Red, Eternal can be pre-ordered here.
