Legendary US proto-punks ROCKET FROM THE TOMBS return with a new album and UK dates later this year. These are preceded by a brand new video for the song ‘Coopy (Schrodinger’s Refrigerator)’ that you can see here.

Originally formed in 1974 and lasting for little more than a year, the seminal Cleveland, Ohio outfit spawned both THE DEAD BOYS and PERE UBU, allowing songs like ‘Sonic Reducer’, ‘Ain’t It Fun’ (The Dead Boys), ’30 Seconds Over Tokyo’ and ‘Final Solution’ (Pere Ubu) to become US punk classics.

First reconvening in 2003, the current line-up features Crocus Behemoth (aka David Thomas) and Darwin Layne (aka Craig Bell) from the original band, plus longstanding drummer Steve Mehlman and guitarists Buddy Akita and Gary Siperko.

Black Record, released on 13 November through Fire Records, features a new version of ‘Sonic Reducer’ along with a cover of garage godfathers THE SONICS’ ‘Strychnine’. Pre-order the album here.

13 December               Brudenell Social, Leeds
