Two former pub rockers return next month with a brand new album.

PROUDFOOT feature Michael Proudfoot of THE HIGHBURY HOTDOGS and Duncan Kerr of Stiff Records signees PLUMMET AIRLINES. The line-up is completed by bassist Wayne Worrell and drummer Joe Malone.

Flower Of London follows on from the band’s debut Lincolnshire which was released in 2009 and produced by fellow pub rocker BJ Cole of COCHISE, HANK WANGFORD and THE VERVE fame.

Formed at Nottingham Art School in the mid-70s, Plummet Airlines headed for London where, living at legendary Islington venue The Hope & Anchor, they became regulars on the pub circuit, signing to Stiff for the classic ‘Silver Shirt’ single, then to State/Polydor for ‘It’s Hard’. Bassist Darryl Hunt would find fame and fortune with THE POGUES, while Kerr went on to play with powerpoppers THE FAVOURITES, chart-bothering doo-woppers DARTS and latterly reformed psych-punks THE BRAINIAC 5. Meanwhile, Proudfoot, also from Nottingham, joined the fertile Islington scene later with country-rockers The Highbury Hotdogs.

Flower Of London is set for release through Reckless Records on 12 September, but is available to order now through Bandcamp.
