IS MICK THERE?

Aussie legend MICK MEDEW is back with a new album from his latest band THE MESMERISERS.

Medew built a cult following in the early 80s with Brisbane band THE SCREAMING TRIBESMEN, releasing the classic singles ‘Igloo’ and ‘A Stand Alone’. Relocating to Sydney and recruiting the former RADIO BIRDMAN guitarist Chris Masuak, the band would enjoy a lengthy and successful homeland career, their 1988 single ‘I’ve Got A Feeling’ even making the Top 10 of Billboard’s Modern Rock Chart in the US.

Medew was awarded Queensland’s prestigious GW McLennan Lifetime Achievement Award in 2015.

In the Mesmerisers, Medew is joined by former Tribesmen Brian Mann on guitar and Michael Charles on drums, with Lois Andrews holding down bass duties.

The new album Open Season follows on from the band’s 2013 self-titled debut. Produced by Mann and mastered by another Aussie legend, Don Bartley, it’s available now through I-94 Bar Records.
