HOT RODS CELEBRATE CLASSIC HIT!
EDDIE & THE HOT RODS celebrate the 40th Anniversary of their classic single ‘Do Anything You Wanna Do’ with two special shows this weekend.
The single, written by manager Ed Hollis and guitarist Graeme Douglas, newly arrived from fellow Southenders THE KURSAAL FLYERS, was released on 29 July 1977. The first single from their second album Life On The Line, it soared to No 9 in the UK charts, becoming the band’s biggest hit. It has since been covered numerous times, by the likes of MICHAEL MONROE, THE ALMIGHTY, DIE TOTEN HOSEN, THE BUSINESS, PETER BRUNTNELL and MANFRED MANN’S EARTH BAND.
The current line-up of the band play a hometown show at Chinnery’s, Southend on Friday 11 August, with support from THE MEDIA WHORES and HEADLINE MANIAC – tickets.
They then play the 100 Club, London on Saturday 12 August, joined once again by The Media Whores – tickets.
