BUZZCOCKS have unveiled some of the guests who’ll be joining them for their show at London’s Royal Albert Hall next month.

As previously announced, the show at the prestigious London venue on 21 June had already been arranged, but following the tragic death of Pete Shelley in December last year, the band decided to turn the show into a celebration of their singer.

THE SKIDS’ Richard Jobson and PENETRATION’s Pauline Murray – who memorably sang ‘What Do I Get?’ with Steve Diggle at this year’s Vive Le Rock Awards – were already booked to support on the night.

Other names lined up to contribute are Dave Vanian and Captain Sensible from THE DAMNED, Peter Perrett from THE ONLY ONES, SONIC YOUTH’s Thurston Moore and THE CHARLATANS’ Tim Burgess. Original Buzzcocks John Maher and Steve Garvey will also be appearing. Music journalist, author and broadcaster Paul Morley will compere the evening. More names will be announced soon.

“I’m looking forward to an amazing show at London’s Royal Albert Hall,” says Diggle. “It’s going to be the perfect setting for us and our fans to pay tribute to Pete Shelley.”

Tickets for the show are on sale here.
