GOING FOR THE JUGGLER!
Possibly the originators of the ‘gypsy-punk’ genre, 80s band ONE THE JUGGLER are reuniting for two London gigs next month to celebrate the CD reissue of their debut album Nearly A Sin.
You can catch them at The Pelton Arms, Greenwich on Friday 12 June and The Dublin Castle, Camden on Friday 19 June.
Formed out of the ashes of Southeast London punks The Reptiles, One The Juggler quickly signed to RCA, being voted best new band at the Reading Festival in 1983 and releasing their debut album later that year.
In their short lifespan, their line-up included, at one time or another, members of Eddie & The Hot Rods, Splodgenessabounds, Burlesque, Ligotage, Slaughter & The Dogs AND Mick Ronson!
Following the 1985 release of the Ronson-produced second album Some Strange Fashion, the band fell out of favour with RCA and splintered.
Frontman Rokko (aka Ray ‘Sham’ Morris) relocated to Woodstock, USA where he formed the band Spiv UK. Bassist Lushi (aka Jerry T Jones) and guitarist Lin (aka Colin Minchin) now play in Kent band Glamweazel, who’ll also be supporting on the reunion dates.
