Long-serving Irish punks PARANOID VISIONS return with a brand new album this month.

Cryptic Cross Words is their fifth since reuniting in 2005, and first featuring the new rhythm section that arrived in 2014. As such, they’re confident that it’s their best yet, saying: “With every release we have done, there has always been a compromise, and certain styles or genres we have wanted to explore have been almost achieved, but not executed the way we imagined them…until now”.

Cryptic Cross Words, out on 14 August via Overground, is available on CD and white vinyl. You can order it here.

Originally formed in Dublin in 1981, Paranoid Visions are Eire’s biggest punk band, founding their own label FOAD Musick and regularly hitting the Irish charts. They gained a reputation for baiting Irish rock behemoths U2 with their FOAD2U2 campaign and the I Will Wallow EP. Splitting in ’92, they returned in 2005 and in 2013 released the album When…? through Overground with CRASS frontman STEVE IGNORANT, touring with him as guest vocalist.
