TRUST NEVER SLEEPS

Cornish space-cadets HANTERHIR are back with a brand new album and single.

The seven-piece band from Redruth, who dazzled with their eclectic mix of spacerock, post-punk, psych and folk on the triple album The Saving Of Cadan in 2018, are set to release a new album Nyns Eus Denvydth Bys Trest at the end of May through Easy Action.

"The album's title roughly translates as ‘There is no-one to trust’," says singer, guitarist and songwriter Ben Harris. "Writing and recording the album was done over the backdrop of Brexit, a falling apart relationship and then Covid lockdowns. With all the wacky things that have come out of people’s mouths over the past few years I think the title pretty much sums everything up.”

Formed in 2008, Hanterhir have become one of the biggest bands in the Southwest, playing numerous festivals and sharing stages with the likes of Gang Of Four, Peter Hook & The Light and Flaming Lips. Following the success of The Saving Of Cadan, they featured in a BBC documentary on the resurgence of the Cornish language, headlined London's Kernow In The City festival and released a double-A-side single featuring covers of Sonic Youth's 'Schizophrenia' and David Bowie's 'Dancing Out In Space' just as Covid lockdown hit. They returned to live action with an appearance at Hawkwind's Hawkfest last August.
