THE N.J.E. UNVEIL NEW SINGLE!

London punk-jazz trio THE N.J.E. release a new single today, unveiling the video with Vive Le Rock!
Their highly original take on JIMI HENDRIX's 'Voodoo Chile' heralds the band's long-awaited debut album Afloat, which is out next month.
The video was shot by Liv Bedford at the trio's regular haunt, Indo Bar in Whitechapel.
The NJE - or Near Jazz Experience - were formed in 2010 by three musicians with 2 Tone Records connections - sax-player Terry Edwards and drummer Simon Charterton are former members of Norwich punk-funkers THE HIGSONS, while Mark Bedford is the longstanding bassist with MADNESS. Between them, they've put in time with the likes of IAN DURY, NICK CAVE, THE JESUS AND MARY CHAIN, SIOUXSIE, SNUFF, ALEX HARVEY, SPIRITUALIZED, TOM WAITS and BIG STAR.
Most recently Edwards has been a member of GALLON DRUNK, PJ HARVEY'S HOPE SIX DEMOLITION PROJECT and Tony Visconti and Woody Woodmansey's BOWIE tribute, HOLY HOLY. He also joins Bowie pianist Mike Garson on his Aladdin Sane dates this autumn.
The 11-track album brings together studio recordings and live tracks, recorded at Indo and elsewhere.
Set for release on Friday 1 September through Sartorial Records, Afloat is available to pre-order here.
