Watford mod-rockers THE SPITFIRES have a new single out next month, and a pair of headline dates to coincide.
'Move On' is the band's first new material since their acclaimed second album A Thousand Times last August, and was written and recorded during an intense four day period at the end of the year.
Band frontman Billy Sullivan, speaking about the song, says, “It shows a change in direction musically and lyrically. It's a pop song, taking influences from reggae and dub but bringing it into 2017. I don't think we could or would have set out to recreate that music. We just interpret the space and rhythm into our own sound. Do our own version if you like. I also think it's a positive statement: move on from tired old views and show that we as people are better than that”.
Released on Friday 19th May on Catch 22 Records, 'Move On' is available on 7” blue coloured vinyl and digital download with exclusive B-Side ‘Stick To Your Guns’. The first 150 copies of the 7” will include a free newspaper – featuring unseen photos, lyrics and articles. It's available to pre-order here.
The band support the release with two headline shows at the start of June. Catch them at....
2nd June – The Georgian Theatre, Stockton-on-Tees
10th June – 229, London
