Eighties post-punks THE OPPOSITION return for a rare London date in the New Year.
The South London band gained a reputation as a band to watch early in the 80s, playing regularly at the Marquee, earning prestigious festival slots at Reading, opening for The Damned at Brockwell Park and recording for majors Ariola and Virgin. Towards the end of the decade they morphed into SO, scoring a US hit with the single 'Are You Sure?'.
Still fronted by guitarist, singer and songwriter Mark Long, the band play their first London gig in 35 years at The Half Moon, Putney on Thursday 20 January. Tickets are available here.
The band's new album Hope is available from their website.
