London punks GIRLS IN SYNTHESIS have just dropped a video for their new single 'Pressure'.
A claustrophobic hammer-blow of angry punk, blasting against a maddening background of cold-war electronics, 'Pressure' is the first taste of the trio's debut album Now Here’s An Echo From Your Future, set for release on 22 May through Harbinger Sound, the label that brought you Sleaford Mods.
“In both music and lyrical content this song sets out to capture the unrelenting pressures of living in the modern world,” explains vocalist and guitarist Jim. “The pressures and expectations of which 'they' force upon you - with the apparent realisation that you will never be what they want you to be. 'Pressure, the twist of the gut, as one door opens another fucking shuts',"
Formed in 2016, the staunchly DIY band built their manifesto on incendiary live performances, with the likes of Slaves, Bad Breeding and Damo Suzuki, and a string of 7-inches eventually compiled on Pre/Post: A Collection 2016-2018 for Louder Than War.
Recording for Now Here’s An Echo From Your Future began in April last year under the watchful ear of Sean Tomlinson at Rockit Studio in Hull, before moving to Hackney's Gun Factory Studio, with finishing touches made at bassist John's SICK Studio in Hither Green, South London.
