Tickets are selling fast for the return of the Pump It Up Powerpop Weekender this July!
Now in it's fourth iteration, the two-day event is back at The Lexington in Islington with a bill bursting with some of the best powerpop bands from the UK, Europe and the USA.
Headlining the first day on Saturday 2 July are Norway's YUM YUMS. They'll be joined by fellow Norwegians CAROLINE & THE TREATS, Italy's RADIO DAYS, POGY ET LES KEFARS from France and THE SPEEDWAYS and AMOEBA TEEN.
Sunday 3 July's bill is topped by returning New Yorkers BABY SHAKES (pictured), along with fast-rising Italian lasses SMALLTOWN TIGERS (ahead of their Autumn tour with The Damned), ex-Boys bassist DUNCAN REID & THE BIG HEADS, Last Great Dreamers guitarist SLYDER SMITH & THE OBLIVION KIDS, France's AVILDA and opening the batting EMPEROR PENGUIN.
"We're really excited about this year's Pump It Up! which promises to be the best one yet," says Simon Drowner from promoters Some Weird Sin. "We've got bands flying in from all over the place; Norway, (Friday's headliners the Yum Yums playing their debut UK gig) France, Italy, and even the US (Baby Shakes who headline the Sunday). The Speedways and Duncan Reid & The Bigheads will be representing the UK - it wouldn't be a powerpop weekender without them. We can't wait to bring everyone together for a great weekend at The Lexington. See you at the bar."
