Jamaican music pioneer LEE 'SCRATCH' PERRY has a new album out next week and he's premiering a track from it exclusively with Vive Le Rock!
'Heavy Rainford' is taken from Heavy Rain, a dub companion to the Upsetter's most recent album Rainford, released in June and co-produced with dub maestro and On-U Sound head honcho Adrian Sherwood.
Musicians on Heavy Rain include stalwarts from Sherwood's regular collaborators Tackhead, Dub Syndicate and Creation Rebel, along with special guests including Brian Eno, who contributes to a re-working of the Rainford track 'Makumba Rock', aptly re-christened 'Here Come The Warm Dreads'.
'Heavy Rainford' features the talents of Skatalites and Bob Marley trombone legend Vin Gordon and UK harmonica ace Alan Glen, known for his work with Little Axe, Nine Below Zero and Jeff Beck.
Heavy Rain is available on black or silver vinyl, CD and download from Friday 6 December through On-U Sound. It's available to pre-order here.
