Western Australian McCann had been a member of Sydney garage-rockers HARPOON before returning to Perth to hook up with Gareth Liddiard in the fledgling DRONES. Eventually ending up in Melbourne, he eventually formed the New Vindictives, along the way finding time to collaborate with the likes of Spencer P Jones and Brian Hooper (BEASTS OF BORBON), Damo Suzuki (CAN), Ray Ahn and Peter Black (HARD-ONS) and more.
