HITTING ON ALL EIGHT!

HITTING ON ALL EIGHT!

EIGHT ROUNDS RAPID have announced a handful of dates hot on the heels of their recent live album.

The Essex post-punk blues decontructionists recorded the live show in Stuttgart in October 2017 for the Kosmic Orgon Kannister radio show. The limited edition 12" vinyl plus free 7" release features fourteen band originals plus their abrasive covers of Mick Farren's 'Drink' and 'Mr Pharmacist' by US garage legends The Other Half, made famous by The Fall.

The album comes complete with a free poster, photographs and setlist from the night of the gig, and is available now via Bandcamp.

The band, who feature Wilko Johnson's son Simon on guitar, recently dropped an explosive two-part video of a live show at London's Shacklewell Arms. With a claustrophobic Technicolor vibe that channels the mid-60s heyday of the British Blues Boom, you can check the first part here...

Aside from the forthcoming live dates, Eight Rounds Rapid have been preparing the follow-up to 2017's acclaimed second album Objet D'Art, which scored a 9-out-of-10 review in Vive Le Rock from The Members' Nicky Tesco. The as-yet-untitled new album is due next Spring.

"There were always supporters who followed us around," says frontman David Alexander. "In a small venue there will be someone who travelled a long way to see us. We own our songs, we own our outsider sound. Because we don’t fit, and because we do everything ourselves you become resilient. Our next album will be as original as the first two and some people will like it. Others won’t get it at all, but we are in this for the long haul and we might just leave something good behind."

The band's latest round of dates kicks off in Deptford this weekend and takes in shows in Guildford, Liverpool and Amsterdam. Full dates are...

Sat 24 Aug – Birds Nest, Deptford, London
Sat 21 Sept – Holroyd Arms, Guildford
Sat 5 Oct – Outpost, Liverpool
