BILLY F GIBBONS has unveiled another video from his forthcoming new album.
As previously announced, the ZZ TOP sixstringer recorded Hardware in California's high desert with a band including Cult and Guns N'Roses drummer Matt Sorum.
The video for 'My Lukcy Card' was shot at Pappy & Harriet’s legendary Pioneertown Palace near Joshua Tree, initially built in 1946 as part of a set for cowboy film and TV stars Roy Rogers and Gene Autrey. The video also features a guest appearance by high desert punk rock glamour icon Jesika Von Rabbit.
“We thought Pappy’s would be a great place for us to do the video since it reflects the rough and tumble high desert vibe that was the inspiration for the album,” explains Gibbons. “I play a slide guitar in this one but neglected to bring a proper slide along for the shoot. Necessity being a mother, we improvised and used a beer bottle. We went through a case or more looking for just the right bottle neck and, at last, found one on a classic Mexican brew. That was some thirst-quenching research to be sure.”
Set for release on 4 June through Concord Records, Hardware is available to pre-order here.
