CAPTAIN FUTURE, alias Alex McGowan from The Future Shape Of Sound and producer of The Urban Voodoo Machine, has a new video which he's premiering exclusively with Vive Le Rock!
'Zombie Lover' is the second single to be taken from the Captain's debut album Ghostman. It follows on from the debut single 'Holy Waters' which came out in January.
The album is the result of the enforced downtime brought about the Covid pandemic which brought a halt to the day-to-day proceedings at McGowan's Space Eko East studio, allowing the multi-instrumentalist to progress in peaceful isolation on Ghostman.
As 'Zombie Lover' indicates, the album steers away from the rambunctious gypsy sounds of the UVM and the testifying soul of the TFSOS in favour of the downtempo dubby blues and trip-hop beats McGowan has honed down the years through his collaborations with the likes of Jah Wobble, Tricky and Martina Topley-bird.
Ghostman is out this Friday 9 July on Gypsy Hotel Records. Captain Future plays an album launch show with The Urban Voodoo Machine's Paul-Ronney Angel at Elektrowerks, Islington, London on 15 July. Tickets are available here.
