FLYING TONIGHT!

FLYING TONIGHT!

Pub-rock legends KURSAAL FLYERS are to have the complete works compiled on a new box set.

The Southend-on-Sea band, who formed in 1973, cut their teeth on the London pub circuit before setting the charts alight with the single 'Little Does She Know' in late '76 just as punk broke.

Over-burdened with songwriting talent, guitarist Graeme Douglas would soon move on to Eddie & The Hot Rods, where he co-wrote 'Do Anything You Wanna Do', while drummer Will Birch would co-author several powerpop nuggets with The Records, including the classic 'Starry Eyes'. He would go on to write the definitive pub rock history No Sleep Till Canvey Island.

The 4-disc Little Does She Know – The Complete Recordings comprises the band's four studio albums, inclduing Chocs Away! and The Great Artiste for Jonathan King's UK label; the Mike Batt-produced Golden Mile, and their 1988 reunion album A Former Tour de Force Is Forced To Tour. The set is completed by the 1977 live album Five Live Kursaals, and numerous bonus tracks including non-album singles and B-sides, outtakes and live tracks.

A 24-page booklet features firsthand sleevenotes by Will Birch.

Released on 22 May by RPM Records through Cherry Red, Little Does She Know is available to pre-order here.
