North London rockers THE BLUE CARPET BAND are back with a brand new video which they're premiering exclusively with Vive Le Rock!
'The Slow Death Of Camden' protests the insidious gentrification of London's rock'n'roll epicentre.
"Lyrically the song is a lament, where have the rock’n'roll bandits all gone?," says frontman Djamel. "What has Camden Town become? The death of Camden reflects the death of London as the alternative capital of the world."
Since releasing their debut album in 2018 and receiving the Vive New Blood award the following year, the band have had a line-up reshuffle, recruiting Ant Thomas and Stan Standen from psychobilly legends Demented Are Go!, recording a new album - including last Autumn's 'B-Movie Boogie' single - due out later this year.
“Stan’s guitar riff for this really drove me to sing something different on this song. It feels like a big step forward for us musically, we’re finally starting to find the sound we’ve been chasing."
Released through Bomber Music, 'The Slow Death Of Camden' is available digitally here and can be pre-ordered on 7" vinyl here.
