THE WORLD NEEDS PiL

THE WORLD NEEDS PiL

PUBLIC IMAGE LTD return later this year with a new album - their tenth - and a new single. What The World Needs Now... is out on 4 September, preceded on 21 August by the single 'Double Trouble' on 10" vinyl. Both releases will be on their own Pil Official label distributed by Cargo. They'll be followed by an extensive tour of the UK, Europe and the US.
The eleven-track album features the same line-up - John Lydon, Lu Edmonds, Bruce Smith and Scott Firth - that made 2012's This Is PiL and was recorded last year at Steve Winwood's Wincraft studio in the Cotswolds.
Formed by Lydon when he quit the Sex Pistols in 1978, Pil released eight albums (including the classics Metal Box and album) before splitting in 1992. They returned in 2009 with Lydon reuniting with former members Edmonds and Smith, and recruiting new boy Firth.
