WALNUT WHIPPERSNAPPERS!

SoCal punk legends DESCENDENTS revisit their distant past on their new album.

Recorded in 2002, 9th & Walnut features the band's original line-up of bassist Tony Lombardo, drummer Bill Stevenson, vocalist Milo Aukerman and guitarist Frank Navetta, who sadly passed away in 2008. The album takes its name from the location of their original Long Beach practice space.

Comprising 18 songs written from 1977 to 1980, 9th & Walnut features tracks from their debut single 'Ride The Wild' c/w 'It’s A Hectic World', featuring Milo on vocals for the first time, plus a cover of The Dave Clark Five's footstomping classic 'Glad All Over'. The band have just unveiled the track 'Baby Doncha Know' as a taster...

“'Baby Doncha Know’ was maybe the fifth song we learned,” recalls Stevenson. “We would go out to 9th & Walnut every weekend and practice all day. I mainly just remember being in awe of how ‘a kid my age, who goes to my high school’ could have written all these cool songs. Frank seemed to have a maturity beyond his years. I never asked him who or what it was about. I was just happy to be there with him and Tony”.
