WELCOME TO MEKONVILLE!

WELCOME TO MEKONVILLE!

THE MEKONS celebrate their 40th Anniversary with their own festival this summer.
Set in rural Suffolk, Mekonville will bring together, for the first time ever, the current and original line-ups of the band.
Taking place from 28 to 29 July in the village of Pettaugh between Ipswich and Stowmarket, the festival will also feature BONNIE PRINCE BILLY, TILLY MOSES, CHRIS MILLS, ESPER SCOUT, CALVA LOUISE, LES TRIABOLIQUES, JON LANGFORD & HIS MEN OF GWENT, THE HILL BANDITS THE 4DGS, INTERROBANG, ETON CROP, LITTLE SPARTA, SALLY TIMMS and more.
The weekend also promises DJs, spoken word and poetry, comedy, arts and crafts and local food and drink.
Mekons founder Andy Corrigan says, “Mekonville will be more than a celebration of a band. We will be creating a family-friendly celebration of the enthusiastic immersion in all art forms which took a bunch of teenage art students from painting, to film-making, to performance art, to recording John Peel sessions.”
Jon Langford adds, “As teenage art students we formed a band. Who’d have thought we would have still been going all these years later? Mekonville will feature every element of the performing arts we can cram into a weekend.”
Staged in collaboration with PettaFiesta, tickets for Mekonville can be bought here.
