Having been delayed twice thanks to Covid, the reborn Futurama festival is set to take place over the Easter weekend of 16-17 April 2022.
Sadly, original Saturday headliners HEAVEN 17 were unavailable for the new dates, but their place is now taken by NEW MODEL ARMY, who played Futurama in its original incarnation in 1983 and are this year celebrating their 40th Anniversary.
Also appearing at the festival, which is co-promoted by Vive Le Rock and has been relocated from Leeds to Liverpool's Invisible Wind Factory, are THE SKIDS, frontman Richard Jobson returning Futurama for the first time since his post-Skids band The Armoury Show also played the festival in '83.
"I have a strong and fond memory of playing the Futurama festival with The Armoury Show back in 1983,” recalls Jobson. “It was exactly the kind of event we should have been playing and in the right company such as Death Cult and Killing Joke (Youth is now our producer). I feel the same kind of excitement today having been asked to return with the reformed Skids. It’s rock’n'roll dystopia made cool in a way that JG Ballard would have approved of. Can’t wait."
Tickets priced £95 are available here.
