Newly signed to Little Steven's Wicked Cool label, MARC VALENTINE's back with a new single and video which he's premiering exclusively with Vive Le Rock!
Produced by Dave Draper (The Wildhearts, Ryan Hamilton, The Professionals) and paired with a suitably Hallowe'en themed video, 'Skeleton Key' follows on from the former Last Great Dreamers' frontman's debut for Wicked Cool, 'Jinx Of Finchley Road' released last month.
“When the idea for 'Skeleton Key' came to me, I was imagining the colours and dialogue of a suspenseful opening scene from a late ’60s Hammer horror film," says Valentine. "It’s a song about discovering the darker side of someone and the futile attempt to escape the emotional powers that can unlock everything – though, as usual, there’s a dash of dark humour.”
Released as a download and limited edition yellow-vinyl 7", the single is backed by a cover of The Shirelles' 'Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow', already a live favourite for the band.
Out today, 'Skeleton Key' is available from all the usual digital platforms while the vinyl is available from Marc's website and Bandcamp.
