Following their surprise return at the start of 2022, WASTED YOUTH have announced a string of regional dates for the spring.
Formed in 1979 in the East End of London, Wasted Youth built a strong and loyal following with a string of indie hits singles and a sole classic studio album before crumbling in '82, guitarist Rocco Barker going off to join Flesh For Lulu. Still featuring Barker and founding singer and songwriter a frontman Ken Scott, the band returned earlier this year with a series of sold-out London shows followed by a tour with the Psychedelic Furs, reprising their infamous opening role on the latter's 1981 tour in support of the Talk Talk Talk album.
In recent months, the band have been working on new material and release plans but will return to the stage for six dates in March.
"Although we loved playing on The Furs tour, it will be that bit more special playing to our own crowd," says Scott. "And for a bit longer than the 30-minute slot we were allotted! We’ll be playing a selection of our back catalogue but also a few new numbers, which will be a bit nervy, but I’m confident they will sound both vibrant and relevant whilst retaining that essential Wasted Youth ‘vibe’."
