WALTER LURE, the only surviving member of the classic line-up of New York punk legends JOHNNY THUNDERS & THE HEARTBREAKERS, will tour the UK in September.
Lure, who was last seen over here blowing the roof off London's Forum as support to the JIM JONES REVUE at their farewell performance last October, will play seven dates as follows...
Wed 16-Southend, The Railway Hotel
Thrs 17-London, The Jazz Café
Fri 18-Birmingham, The Hare & Hounds
Sat 19-Manchester, the Soup Kitchen
Sun 20-Glasgow, Broadcast
Mon 21-Newcastle, The Cluny
Tues 22-Leeds. The Brudenell Social Club
Joining the nascent Heartbreakers in 1975, following Thunders' departure from the NEW YORK DOLLS, Lure featured in the band's classic line-up, participating in the SEX PISTOLS' ill-fated Anarchy Tour and the recording of the legendarily crummy-sounding Track Records debut album L.A.M.F.
Following his departure from the band, Lure notoriously enjoyed a career as a Wall Street stockbroker, but also found time to work with the RAMONES and others before fielding his own band the WALDOS.
For the September dates, Lure will be backed by members of Birmingham's GUNFIRE DANCE. Tickets go on sale on Friday 3 July at 9am from Punk Rock Blues.
