TYMON HIS SIDE!

TYMON HIS SIDE!

THE CLASH collaborator TYMON DOGG is to have his 1982 solo album reissued in expanded form.

Signed to Pye Records in the 60s, the onetime Stephen Murray released a single recorded with Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones and made unreleased tracks for Apple with Paul McCartney, before turning his back on the industry to become a busker, which is when he crossed paths with the formative Joe Strummer. Together they would form Strummer's pre-Clash band The 101ers.

Dogg later played on both Sandinista! and Combat Rock, contributing the song 'Lose This Skin' to the former, before hooking up with Strummer once more in The Mescaleros.

The album Battle Of Wills was recorded in 1982 for the Y label, also home to releases by The Pop Group, Pigbag, Shriekback, Maximum Joy and others. Long out of print, the original album has been expanded to fill a double a double-LP / double-CD set, with the inclusion of a NYC live set and six rare tracks, recorded with Strummer and The Blockheads.

Set for release on 14 July through Tiny Global Productions, Battle Of Wills is available to pre-order here.
