TWISTED SISTER: THE MOVIE!

New York sleaze-rock legends TWISTED SISTER are the subject of a new documentary movie which gets a special UK preview in December.
The appropriately-titled We Are Twisted Fucking Sister, directed by Andrew Horn, is being screened at the Regal Picturehouse in Henley-on-Thames on Sunday 6 December, thanks to the dedication of longtime fan and Vive Le Rock contributor Guy Shankland. Tickets are £12 and are available here.

Far from the globe-straddling major glam-rock titans they became, Twisted Sister included ex-members of THE DICTATORS and learned their craft on the NY club scene in the footsteps of the NEW YORK DOLLS. By the 80s, the unsigned band were playing hometown shows of up to 3,000, yet it took UK punk label Secret - then best known for THE EXPLOITED - to launch the band with a showstopping performance at the Reading Festival, featuring guest appearances from Lemmy and Fast Eddie Clarke from MOTORHEAD, and Pete Way from UFO. Their debut Under The Blade, produced by Way and featuring Clarke, was a bruising street-rock statement that was released in watered-down form for the US market when the band signed to Atlantic. Following the sudden death of drummer A J Pero earlier this year, the band announced that they would bow out with a final tour in 2016.
