THRUM ON, FEEL THE NOIZE!

THRUM ON, FEEL THE NOIZE!

Scottish alt.country pioneers THRUM have announced their first tour in thirty years.

Formed in Glasgow in 1992 around the Neil Young guitar savagery of Johnny Smillie and the dulcet Emmylou Harris-style country tones of Monica Queen, fused with caustic indie rock, the fourpiece performed regularly on the pre-Britpop indie scene, gracing front-covers and appearing on Friday night TV show The Word.

Signing to Fire, they released a string of singles along with the widely praised debut album Rifferama, recorded in San Francisco with co-producer Norman Kerner (American Music Club, Paul Collins).

Peaking too early to reap the benefits of the late-90s alt.country wave, the band split in '95 but reunited in 2011 for a new album Elettrorama

In tandem with a new vinyl edition of Rifferama, set for release by Fire on 26 June, the band head out on the road during the first half of July. Full dates are...
