THREE DAYS OF THE TRIFFIDS!

Legendary Australian band THE TRIFFIDS have announced three European dates in celebration of the 30th Anniversary of their iconic album Born Sandy Devotional.
Although frontman and songwriter David McComb sadly died in 1999, all five of the surviving members of the band's classic line-up - Robert McComb, Jill Birt, Alsy MacDonald, Martyn Casey and Graham Lee - will be joined by Rob Snarski and JP Shilo of THE BLACKEYED SUSANS and others yet to be announced, to perform the album in its entirety.
They play....
18/10/16 Paradiso, Amsterdam
21/10/16 Islington Assembly Hall, London
23/10/16 AB, Brussels
Tickets go on sale on Friday 29 April.
In a Facebook statement, the band said, "We are, as usual, celebrating the life of our dear departed friend and brother David McComb; but this time we are also celebrating the album that has become recognized over the years as being his finest writing achievement. It's hard to believe that Born Sandy Devotional was released 30 years ago. A multimedia spectacle is promised with much yet to be announced."
Formed in Perth in 1978, The Triffids are one of the most revered Australian bands of the 80s, releasing several albums fusing glowering post-punk with country and gothic undertones, with David McComb considered to be one of the greatest of Australian songwriters. Since the band's break-up in 1989, members have been involved with various projects, with Casey becoming a longstanding member of NICK CAVE & THE BAD SEEDS. The band has reformed periodically for special occasions, featuring guest vocalists, including Snarksi, Steve Kilbey of THE CHURCH and Mick Harvey of The Bad Seeds.
Domino Records released a deluxe vinyl reissue of Born Sandy Devotional at the end of last year.
