THE POP GROUP have announced the reissue of their classic and long out-of-print second album For How Much Longer Do We Tolerate Mass Murder?
Released through Freaks R Us on Friday 19 February, the vinyl version of the album will come packaged with eight giant original artwork prints on four double-sided posters, while the CD format will include smaller versions of all the posters.
Originally released in March 1980 on the band's own Y label, For How Much Longer Do We Tolerate Mass Murder? spent twenty weeks in the UK Indie chart, peaking at number one.
The release will be accompanied by a reissue of the Bristol post-punk provocateurs' infamous single 'We Are All Prostitutes' c/w 'Amnesty International Report' both digitally and on limited edition 7-inch coloured vinyl in the original sleeve artwork. Originally absent from For How Much Longer..., 'We Are All Prostitutes' is also now included on the new album release.
The Pop Group's Mark Stewart says: “Context is crucial. At the time, The Pop Group were playing multiple rallies and benefits across Europe from Scrap SUS to Aid for Cambodia to our final blow out at the 500,000 strong Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament rally in Trafalgar Square.”
The band have set up a PledgeMusic campaign, offering exclusive and limited memorabilia in exchange for pledges.
