Aussie rockers THE LIVING END return this Autumn with a brand new album.
The Melbourne band's eighth album, Wunderbar follows on from 2016's Shift and will be released worldwide through Rise/BMG Records on 28 September. You can hear the first single 'Don't Lose It' above.
Originally formed in 1994 as The Runaway Boys in homage to their heroes THE STRAY CATS, the band quickly moved away from rockabilly towards punk as they found themselves supporting the likes of GREEN DAY and THE OFFSPRING on Down Under tours. Following a string of singles and EPs, when they finally released their self-titled debut album in 1998, it rocketed to No.1 in the Australian album chart, becoming the second-highest selling album in Australian rock history, with quadruple-platinum sales. Since then, all but one of their albums has reached the Top 5.
For the recording of Wunderbar, guitarist Chirs Cheney, bassist Scott Owen and drummer Andy Strachan ensconced themselves in a studio in Berlin for six weeks with producer Tobias Kuhn, also known for his work with DIE TOTEN HOSEN.
“Berlin’s such an amazing place,” explains Scott. “There’s no better place in the world for rock and roll bands to make dirty, gritty rock and roll music.”
Wunderbar is available to pre-order here.
