Berlin-based post-punks MAGGOT HEART have just unveiled a new lyric video from their forthcoming album.
The lurching, sinister 'Looking Back At You' is drawn from the trio's third album HUNGER, which is set for release on Berlin's Rapid Eye label and Finland's Svart Records.
Maggot Heart were formed by Swedish guitarist and singer Linnéa Olsson formerly of The Oath. Initially a solo project, she's now joined by bassist Olivia Airey and drummer Uno Bruniusson. Releasing their debut EP City Girls in 2017, they've since released a brace of full-lengths, Dusk To Dusk and Mercy Machine, sharing stages with the likes of Earthless, High On Fire and Amyl and The Sniffers along the way.
Olsson describes the single as “one of the more aggressive songs on the album and definitely some of the angriest lyrics I’ve ever written; 'Looking Back At You' is about reclaiming power. The video plays on the concept of being observed, something like ’Schrödinger’s Woman’! One of my faves on the album.”
