THE DAMNED are to have the story of their first incarnation told by the band members themselves in a lavish new book.
In the run-up the the punk legends' reunion dates in February 2022, Dave Vanian, Captain Sensible, Brian James and Rat Scabies have all contributed to the volume via brand new interviews.
Charting the band's career from their formation The Damned: 1976 - 1978 tells the story of their whirlwind early years, including the first ever UK punk single ('New Rose'), first ever UK punk album (Damned Damned Damned) and first ever US tour by a UK punk band, leading up to their misunderstood second album Music For Pleasure and subsequent demise in early '78.
The limited edition deluxe hardback volume is lavishly illustrated with photographs by renowned photographer Erica Echenberg. Each copy features a book plate, signed by all four original members.
Due for publication in January through Away With Media, The Damned: 1976 - 1978 is available to pre-order here.
