Robert Smith has revealed that THE CURE are to complete a new album in the New Year.
The band's frontman was speaking on US radio station SiriusXM following their induction into the Rock'n'Roll Hall Of Fame. He told Debatable hosts Mark Goodman and Alan Light, that he was inspired to follow up 2008's 4:13 Dream after curating the Meltdown event on London's SouthBank during the summer.
“Seeing all these new bands—I’ve listened to some of these bands and met so many of them that it’s kind of inspired me to do something new," Smith explained. "So, yes, we’re going in about six weeks time to finish off what will be our first album in more than a decade. It’s very exciting times for us all around.”
