THE AINTS! ANNOUNCE NEW ALBUM!

Former SAINTS guitarist ED KUEPPER returns next month with the debut album by his new band THE AINTS!
Kuepper previously used the name The Aints during the early 90s for gigs featuring Kent Steedman from The Celibate Rifles on bass and drummer Tim Reeves.
The new project, which came together last year, sees Kuepper teaming up with Rifles and New Christs drummer Paul Larsen Loughhead, Sunnyboys bassist Peter Oxley, jazz pianist Alister Spence and trumpeter and brass arranger Eamon Dilworth.
The Church Of Simultaneous Existence draws on material written during Kuepper's original period with The Saints from 1973 to '78 and a video trailer reflects the brass-infused-punk sound of his final album with the band, Prehistoric Sounds.
"Things had started to move fairly quickly once The Saints recorded '(I’m) Stranded' in mid ’76," remembers Kuepper. "We recorded three albums over the next two years as well as doing a fair it of touring, and for a while things were looking very promising. However, business problems, compounded by personal and artistic differences meant the band didn’t get around to recording all the material I had lying around….so forty (very) odd years later it occurred to me that these songs might well have made up a hypothetical 4th album….The Church Of Simultaneous Existence…..the songs that refused to die….performed in much the way they would have had the band not split up in 1978.’’
The Church Of Simultaneous Existence is due for release through ABC Records on 21 September and is available to pre-order in various bundles here.
Fans of The Saints, the Rifles, the Sunnyboys and other Aussie bands from the late 70s and 80s would do well to check out the Australian Underground playlist on Spotify.
