London-based indie-punk trio THE GULPS are back with a new single.

Originally surfacing at the start of the decade when they signed up with Alan McGee, the Spanish/Italian trio were force to put their career - including their maiden US voyage - on hold when guitarist Francisco was diagnosed with cancer.

Now they're picking up where they left off with the new Martin 'Youth' Glover-produced single 'Got Ya' through Downtown Records.

“'Got Ya' captures that strange, vulnerable and almost surreal moment of a couple lying in bed after a wild night out," say the band. "Under the influence of drugs, unable to sleep or to connect physically, they find themselves trapped in an intimate limbo where all they can do is share chaotic thoughts, twisted truths and a kind of confused tenderness. The track blends emotional tension with dark humour as it explores that feeling of being lost yet somehow still holding on to each other. Produced by Youth (Martin Glover), the song preserves the raw, twisted energy that defines The Gulps, combining attitude, vulnerability and a melody that lingers even when everything else seems to fall apart.”

Formed in 2019, the band have built and impressive track record for the live shows, sharing stages with such a diverse array of bands as Happy Mondays, The Brian Jonestown Massacre and The View. They'll be heading round Europe with PiL next month but before then, they play a warm-up at London's Water Rats on Tuesday 5th May.
