Steve Ignorant Anarchist punk rocker turned Lifeboat Volunteer Notorious anarchist punk rocker turned lifeboat volunteer, Steve Ignorant, has just completed the recording of a new album with Irish Punk Rockers, Paranoid Visions. The album entitled “When..?” will be launched in Dublin on November 1st and London November 9th with worldwide release set for November 11th. Co-Founder of ‘70’s punk giants Crass, who were outselling AC/DC in the early 1980’s (but from a communal farm house in Epping rather than from a major record label), were famously referred to in the House of Lords and at one stage were contacted by the KGB following their “thatchergate” tapes detailing conspiracy theories about the sinking of the Belgrano during the Falklands war. Crass who’s logo has been worn by the likes of Angelina Jolie and David Beckham, split in 1984 and this project marks the first recordings since the mid 1990’s for Steve Ignorant. Following his retirement from music in the 1990’s, Steve was persuaded to join the Sea Palling voluntary life boat crew after donating £1000 of musical proceeds to them. In the recent documentary he says “When the pager goes I jump out of my skin” before telling his partner Jona that he loves her….. because every time it goes off they put their lives on the line.
