Visual memories of the golden era of 70s music from glam to punk and post-punk are collected in a new book out this Spring.
Following on from his viral posts on social media, Birmingham musician, designer and archivist Dave Twist lays bare the highlights of his impressive collection in Glitter & Glue, published by Winter Garden Books, publishers of previous lavish volumes on The Stooges and Marc Bolan.
Collected throughout Twist's teenage years from 1972 to 1979, the book features a mind-boggling array of memorabilia including posters, badges, rare release sleeves and fan-mag clippings documenting the shift in styles in music, dress and design, from Iggy and the Velvet Underground, via Bowie, Bolan and Alice Cooper to the CBGBs scene and the UK's own response in the form of the Pistols, The Damned, The Clash, Siouxsie, Motorhead and others.
These images are interspersed with misty-eyed reminiscences of Twist's own experiences from schoolboy collector to his first forays in making music alongside pre-Duran schoolfriend John Taylor as well as Brum-punk pioneers The Prefects and semi-legendary cult bands TV Eye and The Hawks featuring Stephen Duffy and Dave Kusworth.

Comprising 300 pages with forewords by Taylor and Bobby Gillsepie, Glitter & Glue is being made available in a limited reduced-price pre-release mail-order run here, with initial orders receiving a free badge and sticker.
