FremantleMedia Enterprises are set to release SIOUXSIE FINALE: THE LAST MANTARAY AND MORE SHOW on DVD on 18 May 2009.

SIOUXSIE “FINALE” was the last show of the Mantaray and More Tour which took place on 29 September 2008 at London’s legendary KOKO club. (Siouxsie played the venue when it was the Music Machine several times between 1977 and 1980). The DVD features the entire concert performance, clocking in at just under two hours, from one of the UK’s most pioneering and iconic musicians : Siouxsie Sioux.

Resplendent with some wonderful costumes and costume changes the show features a great mix of Siouxsie’s new solo songs plus a selection of classics from her mind blowing 30 year career, a truly electrifying and striking performance, this DVD is a true must-see for any Siouxsie fan! The DVD also features an exclusive 30min interview between Siouxsie and artistic director Harvey Bertram-Brown.

The concert kicks off with ’They Follow You’ from her critically acclaimed debut solo album ‘Mantaray’, with Siouxsie glimmering on stage in a silver shroud, before moving into ‘About To Happen’, a guitar riff-tastic stomper also off ‘Mantaray’ The set then twists and turns through Siouxsie’s classics new and old such as ‘Hong Kong Garden’, ‘Here Comes That Day’, ‘Christine’, ‘Happy House”, ‘Into A Swan’, Spellbound’ and ‘Dear Prudence’, in there are also new covers only done on the tour of the The Doors’ ‘Hello I Love You’ and Nancy Sinatra’s ‘These Boots Are Made For Walking’. The concert climaxes with exhilarating performance of ‘Swansway/Reprise’, complete with a dramatic with a black-feathered headdress. Gold and silver catsuits, parasols and tutus are just a few of the moments that enhance this special performance and truly reflect the style and vision that has led to Siouxsie being one of Britain’s foremost performers with a three-decade spanning career.

One of the most influential British females of the rock era, Siouxsie Sioux’s career started with a live performance at the first ever Punk Festival at London’s 100 Club in 1976, she then appeared on the infamous Bill Grundy TV show with the Sex Pistols. Her first single in 1978 with the Banshees, ‘Hong Kong Garden’ immediately went into the UK Top 10. In total Siouxsie has released an astounding 16 studio albums and 41 singles in the UK alone (including 21 top 40 singles), and enjoyed chart success all over the world with the Banshees and as The Creatures before deciding in 2006 to record her first solo album.

Since the Banshee’s split in 1996 Siouxsie has also collaborated with Angelo Badalamenti on the film ‘Edge of Love’, Suede, Morrissey, John Cale, and recently with Basement Jaxx for the track ‘Cish Cash’ featured on the DVD. Her first solo album, ‘Mantaray’, was released in September 2007. Many outstanding artists such as Jeff Buckley, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Massive Attack and Tricky have covered or sampled her work.
