Memphis garage punk rocker Jay Reatard died in his sleep, aged just 29, early in the morning of January 13th. The singer had recently been complaining of flu-like symptoms to friends but no cause of death has yet been established.
He played in the bands The Reatards, The Lost Sounds, The Final Solutions, Nervous Patterns, Angry Angles, Terror Visions and Destruction Unit over the years before embarking on a well-received solo career in 2006. His final album was last year's 'Watch Me Fall'.
