RHODA DAKAR celebrates the music of her old band this autumn with a string of UK dates and a remastered 10th Anniversary edition of her album Rhoda Dakar Sings The Bodysnatchers.
While the 2Tone legends enjoyed a brace of hit singles in 'Let's Do Rocksteady' and 'Easy Life', they never released an album. However, in 2014 Rhoda teamed up with members of The Specials, Pama International and Sidewalk Doctors.
Originally crowdfunded, the album only ever had a limited release at the time, but thanks to Rhoda's current label Sunday Best, the record has been remastered for a full release on vinyl and CD, to celebrate the 45th Anniversary of the band.
This edition also contains three extra tracks, including a version of 'Let's Do Rocksteady' featuring Aimee from US ska-punks The Interrupters.
“Firstly, it’s brilliant to see this album get a proper, all-format release!” says Rhoda. “And secondly, to feature one of the genre’s star vocalists of today feels like the torch is well and truly passed!”
Set for release on 27 September, Rhoda Dakar Sings The Bodysnatchers is available to pre-order here.
