RED LORRY YELLOW LORRY KEEP ON TRUCKIN'!

Yorkshire post-punk legends RED LORRY YELLOW LORRY have announced the long-awaited release of their final album.

Formed in 1981 in Leeds, the band were often roped in with the city's goth contingent (and both drummer Mick Brown and guitarist Dave Wolfenden would later join The Mission), but their experimental/industrial tones had more in common with the likes of Joy Division, Killing Joke, Wire and Big Black.

Regular visitors to the upper reaches of the Indie Chart, the band disintegrated in the early 90s, only to return with a new line-up a decade or so later. Although the band is now effectively defunct, new material recorded during that second wave will now see the light of day as Strange Kind Of Paradise, thanks to a new deal with the COP International label, while further EPs containing singles, b-sides and remixes are promised.

“As the founder of COP International, I am thrilled beyond measure to announce the signing of Red Lorry Yellow Lorry to our label," says label boss Christian Petke. "This is more than just a professional endeavor for me; it's a deeply personal milestone. Red Lorry Yellow Lorry’s music served as the soundtrack to my formative years, inspiring my own musical journey. The chance to contribute to the legacy of a band that has influenced me so profoundly is an honor I can scarcely put into words. To all the fans who have been touched by Red Lorry Yellow Lorry’s music, I extend my deepest gratitude for joining us on this exhilarating adventure.”
