PRIMATES AT THE GATE!

PRIMATES AT THE GATE!

Bright new Sheffield rockers 39TH GATE OF HELL have unveiled their debut single and video.

The multinational trio feature Turkish spoken-word artist Ayse Balkose, Austin TX singer/songwriter/guitarist Ash Gray and Sheffield drummer Simon Hadwin.

Speaking about the single 'Monkey', Balkose says, "The song came about from my involvement with people at festivals who in the height of their late night antics are looking at me, asking for more party products to continue the revelry. Whimsically I ask them to dance for their candy, a monkey dance.”

The band was first put together by Balkose and Gray on a break in Austin, alongside drummer/singer Sux Delux aka Amy Stevens and bassist Dylan Beeler. The four began creating a heavy garage-punk groove based around Ayse’s righteous sounding lyrical delivery, the band debuting at South Austin’s hip new venue, The Sage Brush.

Back in the UK, the pair recruited Hadwin and have since been racking up gigs, including a support slot with The SoapGirls at Sheffield's prestigious Corporation venue.
